Last week, I got what
might be the hardest question I have ever had to try to answer. Part of the
difficulty was context, of course. It was asked by a young child, and in such a
trusting and matter-of-fact way that it was difficult to know how to answer.
But even when a similar question is asked by an adult, it is not easy to know
what to say. The question was, “Why does God keep making mosquitoes?”
